• The house GPA consistently ranks above the All-Men's Average, and top 5 within fraternities on campus.
• Quiet hours 7-10PM Monday through Thursday to aid in studying ability within the house.

Students come to college to learn. At FIJI, we make that our main priority. Our code of conduct is simply "Scholarship, fraternity, self." Your son will be placed among a group of like-minded students who will help him grow and develop in many ways. New members are always placed with an older member of the chapter who is in the same or a similar major. They serve as a mentor and a natural study buddy.

GPA can go a long way in the job application process directly out of college, but what really makes a person marketable and successful are the intangibles of character, integrity, and leadership. At Phi Gamma Delta, we have numerous opportunities for people to get involved, teaching our members the many skills that they won’t and can’t learn in a classroom.

From committee chairmanships to executive cabinet positions, each opportunity in the fraternity is designed to develop leadership in men through fun and engaging activities. Not only do you get the chance to plan socials with other Greek chapters, manage a budget of several thousand dollars, plan philanthropies, coordinate intramurals, and show your pride by coaching Lip Sync teams for Greek Week, but you get to do so in a great environment with great people and make memories you’ll never forget.

Friendship is perhaps the longest lasting value that we uphold. As a FIJI, your son will make trusted and lifelong friends. He will become especially close to your pledge brothers. There is no way to describe the camaraderie that develops until you experience it first hand. We constantly strive to promote close friendships among all members of the fraternity. So while living in the dormitories or an apartment is not a bad decision, very few college experiences can compare with living in a fraternity. Life as a Fiji will almost certainly complete your son’s college experience and help him develop along the way.

FIJI has always had a strong sense of community. Within the chapter, everyone is close to one another. Our house is a community in itself that works for the greater good of everyone living in it. We are constantly involved with the Ames community, the student community on campus, and the Greek community. Moving away from home and going to college can be a tough experience, and becoming connected to the community goes a long way to making Ames feel more like a home.

This connection is achieved through constant interaction with the community. Community service is a very important part of our house. Many of the brothers donate their time to helping the community. Hosting and going to philanthropies to support numerous causes is a common activity in the house. We enjoy many activities on and off campus like Teeter Totter for Family House, Greek Week, Adopt-A-Highway and many others that bring a new college student a way to become part of the Bradley University community and Phi Gamma Delta Community.

You’ve probably heard the phrase: ‘It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.’ At FIJI, your son will have plenty of opportunity to develop that network of friends and acquaintances that will benefit him throughout his life. The networking benefits that Phi Gamma Delta offers you as a new member far outweigh those of other living options. From day one at FIJI you step into a network of over 50 undergraduates and 850+ graduates. If your son is looking to get involved on campus or just wants to get to know more people on campus, FIJI is the best place to do so.

 

Our undergraduates are involved in a variety of clubs and organizations at Bradley University and can facilitate you finding the club or organization for you, or meeting hundreds of new people through our social events with other fraternities and sororities. Being a member of the Greek Community, he will be meeting many other motivated people just like himself. Also, with over 850 living graduate members, our chapter has a wealth of business contacts that we benefit from each year. Graduate FIJIs know that they can count on the quality men that come from our chapter, and are always looking to hire other FIJIs for internships or jobs. Phi Gamma Delta's graduate base is involved many aspects of industry, and is a great place to begin networking if you are looking for help with career placement after college. It would be an understatement to say that your son would be a step ahead of the average college student.
